LiveWell - "healthy choices for a healthy life"
Whatever your age, fitness level or body shape it's never too late to start thinking about healthy living. Learning to live a healthier lifestyle is easy when you change one small thing at a time.
The United Chiropractic Association, of which our practice chiropractors are members has launched a major new initiative called LiveWell to encourage people to make those changes.
Our aim is to have a positive impact on the Health care of our Nation by inspiring, educating and empowering our communities to create change and take responsibility for their own health.
There is a growing body of scientific evidence that shows that our lifestyles can play a huge part in how healthy we are - from what we eat, drink, how much we exercise, smoking, stress and poor posture. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle leaves you fit, energetic and at reduced risk from disease.
Chiropractors are trained professionals who realise the difference simple healthy lifestyle modifications can have on a person's health
With the increase of mobile phones and electronic gaming and technology as a nation we have become less active which is leading to an increase with posture problems and health. Common posture problems chiropractors are seeing in young people (under 29 years) include forward head posture, round shoulders and forward pelvis which is symptomatic of our gadget culture, whilst slouching is higher in the older generation (50+years).
The body is designed to move and regular exercise will improve your spinal health and overall well-being. Getting the right amount of exercise can help protect you from heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, obesity, back pain, increase your energy levels and improve your mood. Chiropractors can offer support and advice with regard to exercise.
The Olympics are fast approaching and there has been a growing use and acceptance of Chiropractors by sportsmen and women. Chiropractic offers a balanced approach to the treatment and healing of sports injuries for many elite athletes, many of whom would not be without their Chiropractor. Chiropractic care helps you to achieve and maintain your competitive edge whether you are a weekend athlete or professional.
It has been shown time and time again that improving diet will improve health and lessen sickness and disease. Going back to simpler, natural whole foods which are fresh and freshly prepared and teaching our children to enjoy them too will lead us to a new era of health. Eat Right - Be Bright is the advice that chiropractors are offering in this wellness revolution.
The doctor of the future will give no medication but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and the cause and prevention of disease" - Thomas Edison
