Michael Veal D.C. CCEP LRCC BSc Hons Chiropractic 2001

Originally from Cornwall in the U.K, Michael in conjunction with his wife and fellow Chiropractor, Olivia, established Gorey Family Chiropractic in 2005, long before the arrival and expansion of their family to include their three boys, Sebastian, Christian and Elliot.

Michael qualified with an Honours degree in Chiropractic from the University of Glamorgan, Wales in 2001 and on completion of his degree, he moved to the South West of England to finish his fifth and final year of Chiropractic education and was registered with the General Chiropractic Council UK, the regulatory body for Chiropractors in the U.K.

His time in the Southwest centred around private practice and also offered excellent opportunity to pursue further postgraduate studies in the U.K within special interest areas such as diagnosis and management of extremity conditions, medical dry needling and orthotic therapy.

In practice in Gorey, Michael spends a considerable amount of his clinical time assisting clients with complex back pain and spinal nerve complaints, particularly individuals, who may have failed to recover previously and he finds working with and helping such clients extremely rewarding.

When not in practice, Michael is often found at Gorey Tennis club or on the sideline at Buffers Alley GAA club cheering on one of his three boys.

Michael is a member of the Chiropractic Association of Ireland and a member of the Royal College of Chiropractors UK.

Olivia O' Leary D.C. BSc Hons Chiropractic 2001

Olivia has strong local links originally from Camolin and attended FCJ Bunclody prior to University in the U.K.

Olivia qualified with honours following her four-year degree programme in 2001 and met future husband Michael along the way.

After graduation Olivia travelled to Cornwall to complete the fifth year of her training in a progressive Chiropractic practice with contracts in the manufacturing industry. Through this experience, Olivia gained valuable experience in the prevention and management of back pain and associated conditions in an industrial setting.

Upon returning to Ireland Olivia in conjunction with her husband Michael established the clinic with the aim of offering high quality Chiropractic care with an onsite x ray facilities to facilitate where necessary, fast access to diagnostic services and help deliver improved patient outcomes in the local community.

Olivia has frequently acted in the professional capacity of a guest speaker at regular intervals for South East Radio discussing chiropractic care, its role in the management of back pain, various disorders and contributory factors to back pain and in general working towards improving and promoting better spinal health.

With a strong professional interest in back pain prevention, Olivia is heavily rehabilitation focussed with her clients and runs a number of back pain programmes within the clinic particularly utilised by women with back pain after children.

As well as being a mum to 3 energetic boys, Olivia is a very keen sportsperson, particularly involved in rugby, both playing and coaching underage, and in the last year has undertaken her first Triathlons, overcoming a keen hatred of swimming and cold water along the way.

Olivia is a member of the Chiropractic Association of Ireland and acts as Diagnostic Imaging Officer for the National Association in Ireland.
